How the Assessment, MSE, and CMP Documents Fit Together

This page condenses SCW17/Paper-04. It shows where this documentation site fits within the jack mackerel assessment and MSE work.

Layer Responsibility
JJM Assessment-conditioned stock and fishery dynamics
jjmR / FLjjm Transfer JJM assessment results into the MSE framework
FLR / mse / msemodules General software used to run projections and management procedures
jmMSE Defines operating models and CMPs, runs simulations, and calculates performance
jmMSE26 Reviewed specifications, selection evidence, and application instructions

1 Separation of responsibilities

jmMSE26 is the documentation and application guide; it is not a separate MSE model. Any calculation examples here must point to an exact saved version of jmMSE. Operating models, recruitment and movement assumptions, reference points, and performance measures remain defined in their scientific source repositories.

2 Reproducibility chain

Every performance claim should identify the operating models, CMP version, number of simulation replicates, treatment of random variation, projection period, performance-measure definition, saved results, and exact analysis version. Every annual application should identify the data revision used and the adopted CMP version.
